AUSTIN WORKMAN MEMORIAL AT DOUSMAN!!! Exciting new additions to the Dousman Campus outdoor classroom have been completed in memory of Austin Workman, loving father of Dousman students Addison and Zoey. Austin passed away suddenly in the spring of 2025 and was an incredible supporter of our school. He is deeply missed by his family, friends, and the Dousman community. Austin’s love of the outdoors and his commitment to Dousman will live on as students enjoy a new paver pathway and outdoor amphitheater. The projects were a collaborative vision between Austin’s wife, Rachel, and Dousman 5K teacher, Ms. Jen Strenke. This past spring, every Dousman student and staff member designed and painted an individual paver, creating a pathway from the playground to the outdoor classroom. The pathway reflects the creativity and spirit of the entire Dousman community while providing improved accessibility to the outdoor learning space. A special thank-you goes to Austin’s brother, Uncle Brady, for sharing his time, talents, and craftsmanship to help bring this vision to life. We are grateful for this beautiful tribute to Austin and the lasting legacy he leaves at Dousman.

KM'S FIRST DAY OF SCHOOL IS SEPTEMBER 1ST!!! All students will have a full day of school on September 1st. Please note that 5K, Grade 6, 9 and all students who are new to KM will have a partial day of school on 8/31 to get acclimated. Schedules are as follows: Elementary 8:35-11:35 am, KMMS and KMHS Campus 7:20 am - 10:30 am.

GIRLS BASKETBALL CLUB TRYOUTS!!! Tryouts for the Kettle Moraine Girls Basketball Club are scheduled for August 23rd through August 26th. This is for all 3rd through 8th graders for the upcoming 2026/27 school year. Registration is tentatively scheduled to be open from July 24th to August 10th (dates may shift slightly). More details will follow soon. We encourage players of all skill levels to join the club.

GRADUATES RETURN TO THEIR ELEMENTARY SCHOOLS!!! Each year, Kettle Moraine graduates return to their elementary schools to reconnect with former teachers and encourage younger students. The visits give graduates a chance to reflect on how far they have come while elementary students enjoy meeting and learning from older students they admire. These traditions highlight the strong connections across the district and the spirit of One KM.

DOUSMAN CAREER DAY MAY 27TH!!! From a Meteorologist to a Lawyer, this year’s Career Day lineup is shaping up to be our best yet! Students will have the opportunity to attend different sessions, ask questions, and learn about the skills needed to succeed in today's economy. REGISTER FOR SUMMER ACADEMY NOW!!! Course registration opens at 8am on Monday March 16th. Students will be able to choose four courses per day (with the exception of Moving on to Kindergarten). To accommodate more families and staffing demands we will again run two separate sessions lasting six weeks total. Session one will run June 15-July 24 (no classes 7/3). Students can attend the full six weeks or one session only if preferred. Session two classes will be a repeat of content and activities from session one, unless noted in the course description. We encourage new students interested in "trying" KM and meeting friends to sign up for Summer Academy. Check out courses and REGISTER NOW at kmsd.edu/SA!

FREE PRESCHOOL SCREENINGS THIS WEEK – DON'T MISS IT!!! March 13th from 9:00am-12:00pm at Dousman Elementary, KM will be holding a free preschool screening facilitated by the District's Early Childhood Team. Children participate in a variety of play-based activities to assess communication, gross and fine motor skills, social/ emotional development, and pre-academic skills. ALL ELEMENTARY EVENT SURVEY CLOSES TOMORROW!!!! We are conducting a survey of elementary families to determine their interest in All Elementary Events prior to the coming school year. Participating in events at other elementary schools gives students and families the opportunity to visit our campuses, connect with new friends, and learn more about the many programs and experiences our district offers. Our PTOs are partnering with district administration to plan shared events for all elementary families. MONDAY TO BECOME ASSOCIATE PRINCIPAL AT KMHS!!! We are pleased to announce that Jeremy Monday, current principal of Dousman Elementary School, has been appointed as one of two Associate Principals at Kettle Moraine High School. He will fill an existing position beginning in July 2026. Monday brings nearly 30 years of experience in education. He has led Dousman Elementary School for the past 12 years. Monday holds a Bachelor of Science in Education in Special Education (grades 6–12) and a Master of Science in Education in Curriculum & Instruction from the University of Wisconsin–Whitewater. He also earned his Principal license and Curriculum & Instruction Director license from Alverno University.
