Fun Run Leaderboard

Hello Dousman and Explore Families:

The DEX Fun Run is Friday, October 23, and we need lots of helping hands to make the day a success!

Volunteers are needed throughout the day to help with setup, support our runners along the course, and clean up after the final race.

Each race volunteer shift overlaps slightly with the next so we can keep everything running smoothly. Sign up for the time that works best for you—or join us for more than one shift!

LOGS MAKE GREAT SEATING!!! Thank you Bark River Tree Service for the donation of logs and stumps to the Dousman and Explore Elementary Campus. We’ve utilized them to create some amazing gathering, learning, and exploration spaces. Forest 4K students created and delivered paper thank you's, but we wanted to share this wonderful partnership with our entire KM Community. Thank you again for a wonderful partnership!

Dousman Campus Transportation Updates

Hello all:
Here are a handful of updates to keep in mind for today and moving forward.

1) Today is our first early release day. Dismissal starts at 3:05 PM.
2) Car pick-up and drop-off: When the right lane on Laser Way gets full, please start another lane of cars in the middle lane. Cars will zipper merge to make one lane at the intersection of the Middle School and Dousman Campus parking lot.
3) Please remain in your car and staff will help your child out, if needed.
4) Please do not park your car in the parking lot and bring your child to the front door. The pedestrian traffic slows down our car line.

Thank you for your flexibility and patience. The procedures do get faster as we get in the rhythm. Before you know it, car drop-off and pick-up will run smoothly and quickly.

AUSTIN WORKMAN MEMORIAL AT DOUSMAN!!! Exciting new additions to the Dousman Campus outdoor classroom have been completed in memory of Austin Workman, loving father of Dousman students Addison and Zoey. Austin passed away suddenly in the spring of 2025 and was an incredible supporter of our school. He is deeply missed by his family, friends, and the Dousman community. Austin’s love of the outdoors and his commitment to Dousman will live on as students enjoy a new paver pathway and outdoor amphitheater. The projects were a collaborative vision between Austin’s wife, Rachel, and Dousman 5K teacher, Ms. Jen Strenke. This past spring, every Dousman student and staff member designed and painted an individual paver, creating a pathway from the playground to the outdoor classroom. The pathway reflects the creativity and spirit of the entire Dousman community while providing improved accessibility to the outdoor learning space. A special thank-you goes to Austin’s brother, Uncle Brady, for sharing his time, talents, and craftsmanship to help bring this vision to life. We are grateful for this beautiful tribute to Austin and the lasting legacy he leaves at Dousman.

KM'S FIRST DAY OF SCHOOL IS SEPTEMBER 1ST!!! All students will have a full day of school on September 1st. Please note that 5K, Grade 6, 9 and all students who are new to KM will have a partial day of school on 8/31 to get acclimated. Schedules are as follows: Elementary 8:35-11:35 am, KMMS and KMHS Campus 7:20 am - 10:30 am.

DEx Back to School Bash
GIRLS BASKETBALL CLUB TRYOUTS!!! Tryouts for the Kettle Moraine Girls Basketball Club are scheduled for August 23rd through August 26th. This is for all 3rd through 8th graders for the upcoming 2026/27 school year. Registration is tentatively scheduled to be open from July 24th to August 10th (dates may shift slightly). More details will follow soon. We encourage players of all skill levels to join the club.
